Regions & Routes

Find the right route: confirm your target library first, then check your account, exit IP and playback device.

VPNSweet offers 110+ countries / 250+ routes. Coverage does not guarantee access to every platform or library. Playback depends on platform policies, account entitlements and device requirements. This page explains how to check; it is not a live availability list.

Platform and regional access check

Use these regions as a starting point when checking routes; they are not confirmed supported regions. Our fact sheet does not list verified access results for individual platforms, so no combination is marked as supported.

Platform × Region to Check × Support Status × Suggested Route
Platform Regions to Check Support Status Suggested Route & Checks
Netflix Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States and Australia; check against your target library No regional access guarantee; verify by playing content Start with a route in the target region, then compare playback over transit and IEPL routes
Disney+ Check the platform's service regions and your account entitlements No regional access guarantee; verify by playing content Confirm the local version of the service, then check that sign-in and media requests use the same exit IP
HBO Max Check the local brand, service coverage and account region No regional access guarantee; verify by playing content Confirm the service's local access point, then choose an available route in the corresponding region
Hulu Check the regional requirements for the version of the service you use No regional access guarantee; verify by playing content Check whether regional versions are separate services; platforms with the same name may have different libraries
YouTube Premium Check your account's subscription region and local entitlement rules Membership entitlements by region are not guaranteed Separate video access from membership entitlements; a working route does not replace a valid subscription
Prime Video Check account region, travel rules and content licensing No regional access guarantee; verify by playing content First confirm the title is included with your current plan, then test playback over the relevant exit IP
BBC iPlayer Check the platform's local service coverage and eligibility requirements No access guarantee Check whether the server list includes an exit IP that meets your requirements; without a matching exit, availability cannot be assumed

Platforms may change how they determine your region or require additional checks for certain exit IPs. A route that worked before may not always provide the same library. If something changes, note the exact error and test again rather than assuming every playback issue is a route problem.

What Does Streaming Access Mean?

Reaching a platform over the network and having an account entitled to play its content are two different things.

Access and Library Detection

“Unlocking” usually means a platform accepts your current network exit and makes content available for the corresponding region. Platforms may also consider your account region, sign-in history, browser state and device details—not just your exit IP. So, an unchanged interface language after switching routes does not prove your region stayed the same; different search results do not prove a specific title will play.

A more reliable test is to open the title's details, check for a play option, then start the full video and confirm both audio and picture. Trailers, promotional pages and sign-in pages may follow different access rules, so they are no substitute for testing the full title.

Memberships, Licensing and Regional Entitlements

A network subscription does not include memberships for Netflix, Disney+ or other platforms, and it does not change rental fees, pay-per-title charges or regional licensing. A title available in another region may not be playable with your current account; the same platform name may also refer to separate account systems in different regions.

VPNSweet route coverage provides international network connections. Membership validity, household rules, travel restrictions and title entitlements are still determined by each platform. Checking your entitlements first can save you from repeatedly switching routes without addressing the real issue.

Native IPs vs. Residential IPs

“Native IP” is often used for an address whose registered region, geolocation and actual region broadly match, but the term has no consistent definition across services. “Residential IP” usually refers to an address whose network is identified as a residential ISP. The first describes regional attributes; the second describes network ownership. They are not interchangeable.

A platform's own IP database may differ from public lookup tools. A lookup showing a residential network does not mean a streaming service will classify it the same way. Shared usage, past activity and changes to a platform's risk controls can all affect how an exit IP is treated. IP labels can help with troubleshooting, but they are not a playback guarantee.

IEPL, transit and direct connections describe routing or how traffic is carried. They do not establish that an exit IP is residential or that it can access a particular library. Dedicated routes can help you compare connection performance, but platform acceptance must be tested separately. VPNSweet's fact sheet makes no per-route guarantees for native or residential IPs, so this page does not apply those labels.

4K and Dolby Vision Playback Requirements

Sustained throughput matters, but playback quality also depends on your account, content and device.

There is no single bandwidth threshold for 4K that applies to every platform and title. Codec, frame rate, scene complexity and player behavior all affect actual requirements. Dolby Vision depends on the dynamic-range and display chain, too; one speed test cannot determine whether it will work. Check the platform's current help documentation for bandwidth guidance. We do not make up speed thresholds or guarantee a fixed picture quality.

Sustained Throughput and Buffering Headroom

Streaming requires a steady download of media segments. A quick speed test cannot rule out quality drops or buffering if the connection fluctuates. To troubleshoot during peak hours, compare routes at similar times using the same title and device. Keep other conditions unchanged, then see whether transit or a dedicated route works better with your local network.

Also check for downloads, cloud sync and other video streams on your home network. They share your local connection; unlimited connected devices do not mean unlimited local network capacity.

Plan Entitlements and the Display Chain

Confirm your plan allows the required quality, the title is available in that format, and the app is set to the right playback quality. Your device, browser, decoding support, display and external display connection can all affect the final picture. A Dolby Vision badge on a title page does not mean the format is active on your device.

If playback is smooth but the quality options are missing, first check the platform's device compatibility information. Switching regions repeatedly is unlikely to solve plan entitlement or display compatibility issues.

Verify the Route Step by Step

  1. Define your goal. Note the platform, service version and title. Confirm your account can use the platform and that the title is included with your entitlements before checking for library differences by region.
  2. Check your exit IP. Select a route in the target region in your client and check its proxy mode. Your browser, platform app and media requests should all use the intended route. If only the browser uses the proxy, a standalone app may still use your regular connection.
  3. Start a fresh platform session. After changing your exit IP, fully close and reopen the app. In a browser, use a separate temporary session to check whether cached data is affecting results. Before doing so, make sure you can still sign in, so you do not lose access to essential account state.
  4. Test the full title. Check whether playback starts, audio and video stay in sync, and seeking works normally. A trailer playing or a cover image loading does not count as a complete test.
  5. Keep your comparisons consistent. First compare other routes in the same region, then try another region if needed. Frequent region changes may alter the sign-in environment seen by the platform and make results harder to compare.
  6. Record and report the issue. If the same problem happens again, save the exact error, time, route name, device and platform, plus the checks you've already tried. To investigate further, submit a support ticket through the user panel.

You can use this approach on Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux, but proxy permissions and background behavior differ by platform. Get clients and manage subscriptions through the user panel. On mobile devices, also check background activity and battery settings so a system-paused app is not mistaken for a streaming disconnection.

Common Streaming Errors and How to Handle Them

Error codes vary by platform, device and app version. Save the full code and message first, then troubleshoot based on the type of error; do not assume similar codes mean the same thing across platforms.

Troubleshoot by error message and where it appears
Error TypeWhat It Usually IndicatesChecks and Fixes
Proxy or VPN detected The platform did not accept the current exit IP or session environment Make sure all requests use the same exit IP, reopen the app, then test other routes in the same region. If it still fails, save the error code and report it
Not available in your region The service region, title licensing or account region may not match Check local service coverage and title entitlements; switching routes cannot replace the platform's eligibility requirements
Network error or connection timeout An issue with the local network, DNS resolution or media request route First check a regular webpage, then review proxy mode and DNS settings. Restore the default DNS settings as described by your client and try again
Playback device or content protection error Browser, device decoding or display-chain compatibility issue Use an app or browser supported by the platform, check for system updates and review external displays. Changing regions is usually not the first step
Account, household or entitlement check Account rules or entitlement verification Follow the platform's official account process; do not use route changes to infer or replace account entitlements
Persistent buffering or automatic quality drops Insufficient sustained throughput, network instability or player quality settings Pause background downloads, compare local connection types and routes in the same region, and check the platform's playback quality settings

When sharing screenshots, hide account identifiers, payment details and subscription URLs. Support will never need your account password. If only one app fails while the browser works, mention that difference first; it can help distinguish app routing, device compatibility and exit IP detection. Playback and Subscription FAQs

If there's a route in the target region, does that guarantee access to its library?

No. The exit region is only one factor platforms consider. Your account region, licensing, session state and how the exit IP is identified can also affect access. Test the specific title, and verify again if platform policies change.

Does an IEPL route mean it's a dedicated streaming exit?

No. IEPL describes a connection path, not platform access approval or a residential IP. Test connection performance and platform acceptance separately; don't treat a route type as an access label.

How are simultaneous streams across devices counted?

VPNSweet allows unlimited simultaneous connections, with traffic based on your selected plan. Streaming platforms may have their own simultaneous playback, household and device rules; check your platform entitlements. Network subscription device rules do not change those limits.

How much data do I need for regular or occasional streaming?

Choose based on video quality and your actual usage rather than estimating a fixed amount from runtime. Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB and ¥28/month for 500GB; data resets monthly on your activation date. Data add-ons stay available until used and never expire. See the plans page for full pricing and billing details.

What should I know about creating an account and refunds?

No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. VPNSweet offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund; see the refund policy for how to request one. Payment methods include Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Streaming memberships are billed separately from the network subscription.

Next: Check the server and route guide to choose a region, then compare monthly plans and data add-ons on the pricing page. See the refund policy for how to request a refund.
